Opportunity for Public Speaking, Part 1

Hey hey ya’ll!

So MLK weekend 2022 I had the honor of being a guest speaker at F.A.C.E.S. pop up shop in Temple Hills, MD all put together by the lovely Queen @defytheoddsbydai.

Honestly, to say Black Excellence would even be an understatement, is there a word better than excellent for description purposes?

Anyhow, I brought along my Creative Media Manager who is the man behind the lens, Brandon @cartiervisions if you’re interested in some of his work — just make sure it doesn’t interfere with our schedule lol.

Moving on, public speaking felt exhilarating.

People are always telling you to find your niche, but the truth is it is one of those things where you really never know until you try.

Being an Aspie I still have yet to figure out if I adopted the whole antisocial yet social loner spill or if I have always been that way.

I mean if you ask my family they’ll probably tell you I’m antisocial lol. But, my friends think I’m social with comfortability and trust and believe my hypersensitivity is what causes the “awkwardness” as my energy is just picking up what doesn’t resonate and makes me in turn feel as though I don’t belong, so I suppose its really them and not me all along.

Anyways, safe to say given that bit of information I did not really see myself doing a bunch of socializing as a way of life as a part of my future.

I mean while working as a mental health therapist, that alone seemed like enough to fill my social cup… until it wasn’t.

Life keeps showing me it’s really just one big ol ride full of twists and turns and you have to find your fun in it all.

It is one thing to hear people tell you that you should speak more or do a podcast, but then when you actually dip your toe in the water and see all these lifeguards waiting — honestly a truly dope feeling, to say the least.

I hope you find some words of encouragement or at least laugh along with some of our candid moments in this Part 1 video.
